In September and October 2023, the Institute of Robotics – Bulgarian Academy of Science successfully led meetings with local small and family enterprises as well as local Chambers of commerce and business organizations in Bulgaria’s cross-border regions with Greece: Blagoevgrad, Smolyan, Haskovo and Kardzali.
Representatives of IR-BAS and the local business community discussed the pressing industry problems and the importance of technology in order to overcome them. Innovative solutions and best practices were mentioned as well as key problems hurdling small businesses in the implementation of automatization and robotic solutions highlighting the need for technical consultation.
The local business representatives welcomed with great interest the demonstrations of social robots:
- Ketty Bot: a robot for service, delivery, marketing and interaction with clients in the HoReCa business, retail, events and services.
- Double 3 for telepresence
- Humanoid robot NAO
