Mark Zuckerberg's concept of the meta universe started a real storm in the world. Many technology companies rushed to comment on it, and the related concept shares on the capital market marked a sharp increase, commented Milen Ganev, a partner in the Bulgarian software company E-CARD, which is in the top 50 of Europe.
The meta universe has also aroused great interest among ordinary people. "What is it?", "Will human society as we know it collapse in the future?", "Will another type of society be born?", "Will we have new opportunities to get rich?", "What does this mean for human civilization? ”are all questions that many are trying to answer.
According to Zuo Penfei, secretary general of the Center for Information Research at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, it will take 10-20 years to realize the basic scenario of the meta universe. Currently, important concepts such as the meta universe and the blockchain do not have a generally accepted definition. They are a common phenomenon in advanced technologies and industries, and analyzing them from different points of view is like observing a polyhedron - you will inevitably see many perspectives and draw different conclusions, explained Milen Ganev.
For example, from a technological point of view, the meta universe is a 3D virtual space; from the perceptual it is a continuation and embodiment of the perception of neurons; from economic represents something new that intersects the physical and virtual forms of the digital economy; and from the cognitive is the understanding of the real world from the perspective of the machine, etc. Generally speaking, however, the meta universe is a scenario for large-scale application of virtual reality, said Milen Ganev from "E-CARD".
Many tech giants have been looking at the meta universe for some time, but Facebook had to be renamed Meta for the concept to suddenly become so popular. Milen Ganev believes that there are several reasons for this. First of all, from the point of view of law and trends, technologies that support the emergence of the meta universe are approaching the moment of singularity and a technological leap is looming on the horizon. Secondly, the traditional network Internet has reached its peak and is beginning to decline, and the meta universe can become a means of integrating the virtual and real world, with a huge effect on enterprise development. Third, from a market perspective, Roblox, offering the first stocks related to the meta universe, far exceeded expectations after its listing in March this year, and the positive effect of market feedback is obvious.
Pricewaterhouse Coopers predicts that the market volume of the meta universe will reach $ 1.5 trillion in 2030.
The meta universe will lead to five major changes in our lives, social and economic development: one is to further improve production efficiency in terms of technological innovation; the second is to give birth to a series of new technologies, forms and models and to promote the transformation of traditional industries; the third is to promote the cross-border convergence of the cultural and creative industries, which strongly stimulates the consumption of information; the fourth is to restructure the way of life and work, most of which will be in the virtual world; the fifth is to promote the construction of smart cities and innovative models of social governance.
